Our suppliers
The homeless and indigent people who collect scrap timber throughout the City are Luna’s suppliers. We deal directly with them rather than through a middleman, which means they receive 100% of what is paid. Our rates for scrap timber are higher than those for scrap glass and paper.
Our staff
In keeping with Luna’s sustainable business practices, our 43 full time employees are paid a fair living wage and have access to all the benefits enshrined in
South Africa’s progressive labour laws.
Our management
The founders of Luna have a strong desire to serve humanity and are committed to non racial and non sexist employment practices. This approach is reflected in the management style, which is inclusive and caring, and understands that the team is more important that any individual.
